Plunge Router - A router with a plunge base is the best way to cut out the inlay pieces without making unwanted gouges when trying to make an accurate plunge into your project wood. |
Bandsaw - Many of our Art Design Stencils require you to use the bandsaw with a resaw technique to prevent the breaking of the Inlay pieces. If you are using thick lumber to save $ than it is a must. |
1/8" Router Inlay Kit - Every MLIS we have made so far has required the use of this 1/8" inlay kit w/ .2" bushing depth to execute the design. The Whiteside 9500 kit below works great. Use the 1/4" 9501 kit for faster pocket clear out only. |
Positioning Plates - These plates hold your templates in place throughout the duration of the inlay creation process. They also ensure you are floating across a level surface with your router to prevent fall-off damage to your MLIS while cutting out the pockets. |

Double Sided Tape- Use the clear to hold down your stencils to your project wood and grab the white to hold your wood to your table to prevent plates from moving. |
